Apprentice Database Engineer
We are searching for a motivated software engineer to develop database solutions.
Responsibilities
You will be learning relational database design and analysis from a senior database engineer. As your skill set develops you will become responsible for developing database solutions for complex enterprise application requirements. This entails gathering data requirements, performing data normalization, and implementing Oracle data structure solutions. While some database administration is required, this is not an administrative position, and the majority of your responsibilities will be in solution design.
Requirements
You must have at least a rudimentary understanding of data normalization and software design. You must also be willing and able to learn and adopt new methods and technologies rapidly and efficiently.
Education
You will need a Bachelor’s degree or better in Computer Science or a related discipline. An extra two years of full-time experience developing software applications will be considered in lieu of this requirement.
Experience
You must have at least six months experience developing software applications. Database experience is obviously required, but experience with other programming technologies will also be considered. Experience working with a service-oriented architecture is useful, as well as any experience you have working with Oracle.
