Administrative Assistant

This is a fun and demanding job for a person that likes change and lots of varied duties and the joy of working with a very eclectic group of people.

Responsibilities

You know that term “and other duties as assigned” that employers like to put in a job description? Well, that’s your job! One minute you are working on some aspect of A/R or A/P using QuickBooks Pro and the next you are running out to pick up lunch for the Board of Directors.

You will need excellent grammar and spelling skills because you’re the one that will have to proof newsletters and correspondence that will go out to our clients. Then it’s time to go on-line to make travel reservations for our sales group, oops, the minute you’ve got the arrangements made they call you to tell you to change them! And, woe be unto you if you mess up travel, the road warriors need perfection when they are on the firing line and have to be on time.

Sure there’s the usual opening the mail, answering the phones, filing and checking supply inventories, ordering the supplies and stocking them but you’ll also work in Windows programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and perhaps PowerPoint. The next minute you’re screwing in a light bulb. Like to make arrangements for meetings and parties? This is another aspect of your job that can be fun and satisfying.

So, to sum up, this is a job for someone fast on their feet and with the desire and ability to change gears quickly and stay cool. You are “Customer Service” for the entire organization.
